TradeLink has always had a reputation for being a stable and reliable EDI solution

The Telstra TradeLink EDI service which includes the TradeLink EDI Translator software is the most widely installed EDI solution in Australia with several hundred users.

Going right back to the the beginnings of the TradeLink project, the people at CEC and our associates have been closely involved with the development and support of the TradeLink software.

TradeLink has now reached the end of its lifecycle. CEC continues to provide Technical Support for legacy TradeLink installations.

** TradeLink Network to be Decommissioned **
Telstra will be pulling the plug on their TradeLink EDI solution in mid 2008. This is akin to them decommissioning the CDMA network without first ensuring that their NextG network will be ready in time to take over.

Except, in the world of EDI, it is far worse - there is essentially no SME replacement solution for the ageing TradeLink platform. Whilst their BPX (Business Process eXchange) system is no doubt highly comprehensive and complex and can be used as a replacement, to users of TradeLink, it is no longer the familiar desktop-application that they are used to.

BPX is an entirely new beast, and to most SMEs, the mere thought of being forced to replace an existing EDI solution (that worked perfectly) with an entirely new paradigm is sure to send shivers down the spines of IT managers.
