Central to the
EDI-X® System is the EDI eXchange service.
It is a Server based managed service for centralised document processing, management and distribution.
The system manages Trading Partner configuration records for each User, EDI translation and communication with the
Service Providers' mailbox. It is also capable of hosting a private network for Trading Communities to connect directly with each other
through the EDI eXchange. (see diagram)All information required to perform document interchange is stored on the Server. This includes individual Trading Partner and EDI configuration information as well as global settings.
Data is exchanged over a secure HTTPS Internet connection. The Server then manages EDI translation and the interchange of documents data with the EDI Trading Network.
There is a two-way transaction between the Client and the Server. At the completion of each session, confirmation is sent back to the Client indicating the status of the transaction. The user will know if their outbound documents have been successfully processed and delivered.
A web portal allows Users to access their account information and transaction logs.
Storage space is allocated on the EDI eXchange Server for documents after they have been processed and delivered. In the event that the user wishes to retrieve recent documents, this can be done with a simple request from the Client application. An option is available for data to be archived on the Server for extended periods.
Automatic software updates are another key feature provided by the EDI-X® System. At any time, you can easily check for updates and if available they can then upload and installed, insuring that you are always running the latest version of X-Trader.
The advantages of the EDI-X® System are apparent.
With the EDI eXchange Server taking control of the document management and Trading Network network communications, the user no longer has to be concerned with understanding arcane EDI terminology and Trading Partner or communications configuration options. One of the most common sources of interchange errors, EDI translation, is now eliminated. Data entry is done efficiently using intelligent forms with time saving features such as auto-fill options and comprehensive validation that aims to virtually eliminate data entry errors.
With any standard internet connection, either broadband or dial-up, the exchange of eBusiness trading documents happens efficiently and without error.
