In the beginning
Our association with eBusiness technology goes back to its inspection in Australia. Robin Hodder, Managing Director of CEC has been involved with EDI technology and eBusiness messaging services for over 25 years when, in the mid 1970's, the Automotive Industry started to implement EDI as a strategic business tool to achieve Just-in-Time manufacturing outcomes.

Over the next two decades Robin became recognised for his skills in this new technology and was recruited by several companies eventually ending up with Telstra Multimedia (as it was known then), as Senior Sales Manager, being one of the people responsible for further developing and expanding the market for their extremely successful TradeLink EDI system.

That division of Telstra was disbanded with many team members continuing on in the private sector, using their expertise to service the now established EDI customer base. Several of these specialist technicians continue to consult for CEC.

The widespread use of EDI for industry at that time in Australia was still emerging and Robin saw an opportunity, starting his own business, Corporate Electronic Commerce Pty Ltd in April of 1997 continuing to service the rapid rollout of EDI in the Automotive and other industries.

From the beginning, CEC has established a deserved reputation for being a leader in the field of EDI and Business to Business eCommerce. We now service businesses in all industry sectors and have established the necessary expertise to advise on and supply complete, fully integrated EDI, eCommerce and integrated IT solutions, enabling our customers to streamline their document interchange and eCommerce requirements, resulting in reduced costs and increased efficiencies in timeliness and accuracy.

With the recent introduction of our EDI-X^® eBusiness messaging system, we have broadened our focus to include the development of advanced eBusiness solutions with the intention of providing our customers with the most advanced and sophisticated eBusiness Messaging solution available.
